'FREIDA"

Dear Ron and Danny,

The moment I saw her little face on your web site, I just knew she was mine.      Freida, aka Foo Foo, Princess Foo Foo, Monkey Face, and the list goes on and on.  Funny how those you love so much get so many nick names. And, love her I do. We have always been Terrier people, but when I saw this incredible little piece of white fluff, our world changed. She has captured our lives and everyone else's who have met her. I thank you both from the bottom of our hearts for this little girl. I only wish we could take them all.
You must have wings hidden under your clothes, for surely you are angels.

Lots and lots of love,
Jinx Springer
Hope this isn't too soppy, but I mean every word !!!!!!!!
Ohhhhhhhh, there she is. You know, I could have gone on for hours about her.   For example, her tail has never stopped wagging, she never makes me feel guilty, Omit JR's can and do, she is so loving and grateful, I hate that word.       She has nothing to be grateful for, she is the most giving little girl we have ever had. And, she has started a very soft growl at Henry when he gets too close to me - as well she should, he is an 80 # GSP who just walks over me and everything in his path. I think she is teaching him that fluff ball is the head woman.Good for her, he has never listened to me. She is doing so very well, I can't wait for you to see her again. She is just the happiest dog ever. Loves the golf cart, did she ever go on one with you? Golf cart and car trips, wonderful
Thanks for putting her picture on your site, she thinks she is in show biz.       You are the best.!!!!!!!!!!!

"BROWNIE"

Brownie cracks me up with the crossing of his paws. There's a lady in the neighborhood with an older female  dog (I think Brownie thinks she's his girlfriend he gives her a kiss every morning).  She picks Brownie up every morning at 7 and walks 2 miles with the dogs and then comes back at night to do the same. When Brownie sees them coming he starts whimpering. And he is in love with the cats (4) one of them pounces on his tail while he's lying down and he could care less. I love him to pieces.

Thanks, Karla

"MARVIN"

owner: Beth Bonniger

My boyfriend, Dennis, and I were given the 1000th dog adopted by Miranda Scott. She had called me about him when she saw him because she knew I wanted another dog. I told her I wasn't really sure if I wanted him. True to Miranda's style she took "Marvin" anyway and when I met him it was a perfect match for us. I own a dog that I adopted form a shelter on June 28th, 1999. On June 29th, 2008 Marvin joined our family. He is a miniature version of my dog, Jezebel, but with different coloring.  We love him already, 3  days later. He is a super smart, sweet, cuddly puppy. He has quickly learned to come, sit, down and to crawl.
I have known of Ron and Danny from the horse show circuit and have heard so many fantastic stories about the great things they do for animals. I am very proud to be owned by one of their rescues.

Thank you both for my new friend!

"POPPY"

owner: Mona Snell

Hi Guys,

Sorry it’s taken so long to finally get a decent picture of Poppy but as you know she’s so shy….no really.  She hears a camera and she runs.  I think perhaps she is wanted and is well just afraid someone might recognize her and turn her in to the FBI……hence her reserve nature….always in the background or under something.  So here she is …..truly one of the most beautiful creatures.  People will still stop me and ask what breed she is and I just say….’A Tail-less Red Dog!’ and they kind of think I mean it….ha.  thanks again…x.m

"LAYLA"

owner:  The Strawbridge Family

Hi there,

We met you this past weekend in Greensboro.  We are the family with Jenn and Harold who adopted Layla.  Just wanted to let you know she is the funniest puppy!  She has been playing non stop and slept next to my husband all night.  The only thing she did not like was the bath when we got her home.  Thank you so much for such a cute dog.  What you are doing is wonderful.  Included are photos of Layla in her new home.

"YODA"

owner: Peter Miller

Danny and Ron,

Jennifer said you would like a picture of Yoda, the best dog we have ever had. I am attaching a picture from last winter that is typical of him. He is smiling (he’s always happy) and he’s a mess! He weighs about 35 pounds and thinks he’s the sheriff of our farm.

Thanks for everything you do.

"AMBROSE"

owner: Ken, CJ and Sarah Baker

Hi Danny and Ron, `

I wanted to send you an update on the greatest rescue ever! Rose Ambrose (aka Dorothy) has settled into suburban Philadelphia life quite well. It took her about a year to come out of her shell (and out from under the bed) but she is now the queen of her house. I want to thank you for sending me such a great dog. She is perfect in every way and will always be a part of the Baker/Ambrose/Kennedy clan. Congrats on you amazing award and thanks for all that you do for stray animals.

"BUBBA"

owner: Elise

Hey,

I just came across your website tonight and wanted to say thanks for Bubba.  Also congrats on your recognition for all your hard work with the dogs.  Bubba is doing great!!  He has come out of his shell and is a happy, healthy, loving dog today, He is the perfect dog for me and my lifestyle.  He is able to go to work with me everyday and travel with me.  Bubba is truly my companion.  He also finally got a clean bill of health yesterday with his heartworms.  Like you said, he is now free of them. I have attached a pic for your site if you want to post it.  He had to get a haircut due to an infection at the time, but he still has those loving eyes and when his hair grows back out I can send another if you like.

Thanks again for such a great dog.

Elise

"BRILLO & RONDA"

owner: Carroll Clancey

These are my two "matching mutts" that I have adopted through Ron and Danny.  "Brillo' was placed with me in 2001 and Ron found a little female who he said could be Brillo's litter mate as he and Danny were placing Hurricane Katrina rescues in 2006.  I named her "Ronda", after Ron and Danny.  Ron and Danny dogs are the best!  Congrats on your A.S.P.C.A. award-you deserve it.

"TONY MCLAUGHLIN"

owner: Meredith McLaughlin

RON & DANNY  - HERE IS A PICTURE OF TONY SOPRANO , THE COWBOY , THAT I THOUGHT YOU COULD USE TO SHOW UP ALL THE OTHER DOGS!  I'VE HAD MORE PEOPLE SAY TO ME HOW WONDERFUL IT IS TO RESCUE A DOG BECAUSE THEY ARE SO GRATEFUL AND IN AWE OF YOU. OK .WHAT HAPPENED?  THAT THOUGHT HAS NEVER EVEN COME CLOSE TO TONY!  OH WELL, HE IS PERFECT AND I'M THE ONE WHO IS GRATEFUL AND IN AWE OF HIM. THANKS SO-O-O MUCH.

LOVE,

MEREDITH

"MAC"

owner: Peggy Augustus

Hi Danny and Ron,
We've never met but I've heard Meredith talk about you so much, I feel I know you. It is such a wonderful thing you do and nobody deserves an award more than you two. As to Mac, if he has no personality, I can't imagine how the others are. He's such a cute little guy - well, maybe not so little just vertically challenged because he weighs 25 lbs. and feels like he's made of lead when you pick him up. Nothing bothers him. He doesn't need anybody to play with him - he throws the toys for himself. He loves to go with me but waves goodbye if I don't take him. He eats anything and as much of it as he can steal and sleeps soundly until I wake him in the morning. He does have a little snoring problem but doesn't bark except when he's dreaming which he does a lot. All in all he's about the easiest dog I ever had. Thank you for rescuing him and congratulations so much on your award. Sincerely,
Peggy Augustus

"GILLIGAN"

owner: Alex Lieppe (and family)

Danny and Ron,

I am Alex Lieppe and my mom and I adopted Gilligan this past summer at Blowing Rock. Even though this was a week before I left for my freshman year in college, he is still very much my dog. He went with me everywhere - to the barn, friends houses, and even parties and stores. He is the most loyal, obedient, and passionate dog I have ever met. He follows my horse and I on trail rides through the farm and gets along with every dog he meets. I am on the equestrian team at UGA and he has come to all our home meets as a loyal mascot. I just returned from fall break spending 4 days at home, and he never once left my side. My parents and I fight over him because he is so much fun to have around.  People fall in love with him wherever he goes, and I am so thankful and proud to be his owner! I am counting down the days until he comes to school with me permanently! I couldn't imagine my life without Gilligan now.

Alex Lieppe

Despite the original foster parents I got her from (Ron & Danny), Hazy has been a wonderful companion for Blanche and a great dog.

"SNOWY & SWEET PEA"

owner: Sue Pinney

My friend Claudia Roland knew I needed a dog so she dragged me over to Ron and Danny's where I encountered a great group of rescue dogs from New Orleans. We should all be grateful that we in the horse world have two super men with the burning desire to help in this crisis. I really was unaware of the enormity of this project. Ron put Snowy into my arms and it was love at first sight , she is so inept. A few days later I had them bring me a mixed breed street Irchin that  just needed some loving. While on a trip to Ocala a friend of mine fell in love with her and she joined a new home with a corgi, mutt and a standard poodle. Wished I had a picture , she was so precious. A few day later Danny came over with his sister to ride a horse and of course they brought Sweet Pea with them. Well I can't imagine life without them. They have adjusted to every element of a horseman's lifestyle. Keep up the great work Ron and Danny, you certainly have made a large group of rescue dogs grateful. Bless you both for making my life pure joy with these two lovely dogs.

"LILY"

owner: Sarah Fox

Hi, Godfathers,
Congratulations on your well deserved award from the ASPCA.  I love my new life, especially the sofa back I can hang out on and watch all the runners and dog parade go by. Hopefully the picture of me flying high comes too.

Woof woof, Lily

Ps.  The STATE’s photo is so great with your latest crew.  Thanks for what you do, best, Sarah

"NEIGHBOR"

owner: Natasha Vitkovic

"Neighbor” LOVES his new home in Charleston, SC. He especially likes to party with us at the pool, and then he likes to sleep in the closet like he has had a rough night! We go to the beach a lot, and when I have to go to work… he likes to hang out on the balcony, talking to all of the other dogs that are walking by. All of his checkups reveal zero complications, and that he is a super healthy, chubby puppy!  It’s funny, he doesn’t really bark, he talks! Karen Kelly said if there were a dog that was made on this planet just for me, it was Neighbor.

"DANNY SCHOELLKOPF"

owner: Susie Schoellkopf

Dear Ron and Danny,

I love Danny and he has taken over my house. He lives with 2 manecoon goats and his brother - Golly. He sits on the golf cart and barks at anyone who comes near it. All of Danny's friends who have met him thinks he asks just like his namesake - "Danny" . You both are amazing for all your dedication to so many dogs and cats who need homes.

All the best,
Susie

"SCRUFFY"

owner: Patrick & Tatiana McHugh

We have adopted a dog from your house last year, the beginning of October. My daughter named him Scruffy and we couldn't ask for a better dog. He loves not just our kids, but all the children that want to play with him. He became part of our family and we can't imagine not having him around ;we have two girls, 3 and 6 yrs old. When we go for walks he always gets compliments from other people and our daughters are very proud to show him off. Thank you for giving us a great family member!

Patrick and Tatiana McHugh.

"ROSIE"

owner: The Cram Family

Neither Rick nor I thought we were ready for another dog after loosing three Corgies of various ages in under a year and a half.  But thanks to Mary Ann (Parmelee) and you two, we now have Rosie. Rosie sleeps in between Celia (4 yrs) and Liza's (3 yrs) beds.  The first time I heard Rosie speak was when Rick was coming home late from an away horse show.  Rosie growled and let out warning bark as he was coming in the front door.  I can't tell you what a relief it was to know she was protecting our house. The picture I have enclosed speaks for itself.

With much appreciation for what you do.

Love, Crams (Rick, Cathy, Celia & Liza and Rosie)
